Regarding sharing the music you share with us?
What if one my troupe members wants a copy of this cd - or a student wants to know who's music this is...Etc.
How do you want us to handle this?

Re: Ahmed - What is your policy...
Tue, March 22, 2005 - 12:22 PMSorry, I thought I sent you some info on this. There has been such a great response I forget what I am sending to people. That is why I created this tribe.
OK, here is what I am looking for at this time and space.
All I ask is that you credit me for the music. At this moment I am sending you ladies mp3s. Though I have been able to create some great sounding mp3s because of my audio software. The CD, when released will sound tons better.
So you can share these songs. If I gave it to you, then you can give it away. If someone approches the dancer and asks, "what is this, where did you get, can I have a copy?" Yes, to all of that. Tell them a little boy in austin composed it by the name of ahmed. Tell them how they can get a hold of me. And if you want to, YOU can burn them a copy.
These are drafts still and are not 100% polished. So there are not perfect, but they work. Once the release is ready I will sell them through my mom Lucila.
So basically I am creating a buzz for my music so that when the CD comes out, it will sell. I have only given away about 5 or 6 songs. The CD will consists of as many as I can put on there. And every year after that there will be new music with the pre-buzz give away I have been doing recently.
Does this makes sence?
I want to create a buzz.
Give it away till the CD release.
Share with all of your students. Dance at shows with it. Creat a coregraph with your students or troupe. Burn a copy so everyone has one.
Just make sure the world knows it is my music.
I want to be the guy that takes an order for a new song. Kind of like commisioning me to make you a song. I want to be known as the guy that takes an order for a new song and a few hours later you have it.

Tue, March 22, 2005 - 1:42 PMYou did mention a couple things but I wanted to be clear for all!
Speaking of orders for new songs - what did you think of the 2 that I sent you last week....
And - I am going to ask that you let me hear those before you share them - we can call them "Ahmed's crazy mix for Corrie" LOL -

Re: Ahmed - What is your policy...
Tue, March 22, 2005 - 2:18 PMOn the custom music or personl remix of other people's music you want re-mixed.
I think I will only give the dancer requesting the custom music that music. Once she has performed to it and she is ready to share it, THEN I will share it out.
Like the one I did for Mavi using the House of Pain song. I have not shared this one out and it is still her idea/creation/concept. I will share it after she alright with other dancers dancing to it.
I understand the need to have something that no one else has and the last thing I want to do is compose a custom song for a dancer and share it before the original dancer had a chance to dance to it. She goes to a show and there is another dancer dancing to "Her" concept song. -

Re: Ahmed - What is your policy...
Tue, May 31, 2005 - 7:27 AMSo how does it work with copyrights, if your music is a remix? Can this music be used without having copyright problems?
And how long are your songs usually? Can I send music I like to be used in the song?
